ܥܠ ܪܘܚܢܝܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܚܝ ܨܒܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܬܕܥܘܢ
el rwkhnyth' dyn 'khy tsb' 'n' dthdewn
Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant.

ܕܚܢܦܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܘܠܦܬܟܪܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܩܠܐ ܕܠܐ ܦܘܪܫܢ ܡܬܕܒܪܝܢ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ
dkhnp' hwythwn wlpthkr' 'ylyn dlyth lhwn ql' dl' pwrshn mthdbryn hwythwn
You know that when you were heathen, you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܡܘܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܠܝܬ ܐܢܫ ܕܒܪܘܚܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܡܡܠܠ ܘܐܡܪ ܕܚܪܡ ܗܘ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܦܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܡܫܟܚ ܠܡܐܡܪ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܗܘ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܒܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ
mTl hn' mwde 'n' lkwn dlyth 'nsh dbrwkh' d'lh' mmll w'mr dkhrm hw yshwe w'pl' 'nsh mshkkh lm'mr dmry' hw yshwe 'l' 'n brwkh' dqwdsh'
Therefore I make known to you that no man speaking by God’s Spirit says, “Jesus is accursed.” No one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” but by the Holy Spirit.

ܦܘܠܓܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܚܕܐ ܗܝ ܪܘܚܐ

Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.

ܘܦܘܠܓܐ ܕܬܫܡܫܬܐ ܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܚܕ ܗܘ ܡܪܝܐ
wpwlg' dthshmshth' 'ythyhwn 'l' khd hw mry'
There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord.

ܘܦܘܠܓܐ ܕܚܝܠܘܬܐ ܐܝܬ ܐܠܐ ܚܕ ܗܘ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܡܥܒܕ ܟܠ ܒܟܠܢܫ

There are various kinds of workings, but the same God, who works all things in all.

ܠܐܢܫ ܐܢܫ ܕܝܢ ܡܬܝܗܒ ܠܗ ܓܠܝܢܐ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܥܕܪܐ ܠܗ
l'nsh 'nsh dyn mthyhb lh glyn' drwkh' 'yk dedr' lh
But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all.

ܐܝܬ ܕܝܗܝܒܐ ܠܗ ܒܪܘܚܐ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܚܟܡܬܐ ܠܐܚܪܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܝܕܥܬܐ ܒܗ ܒܪܘܚܐ
'yth dyhyb' lh brwkh' mlth' dkhkmth' l'khrn' dyn mlth' dydeth' bh brwkh'
For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;

ܠܐܚܪܢܐ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܒܗ ܒܪܘܚܐ ܠܐܚܪܢܐ ܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܕܐܣܝܘܬܐ ܒܗ ܒܪܘܚܐ

to another faith, by the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, by the same Spirit;

ܠܐܚܪܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܚܝܠܐ ܠܐܚܪܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܢܒܝܘܬܐ ܠܐܚܪܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܦܪܘܫܘܬܐ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܠܐܚܪܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܙܢܝܐ ܕܠܫܢܐ ܠܐܚܪܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܦܘܫܩܐ ܕܠܫܢܐ
l'khrn' dyn khyl' l'khrn' dyn nbywth' l'khrn' dyn prwshwth' drwkh' l'khrn' dyn zny' dlshn' l'khrn' dyn pwshq' dlshn'
and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of languages; and to another the interpretation of languages.

ܟܠܗܝܢ ܕܝܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܚܕܐ ܗܝ ܪܘܚܐ ܣܥܪܐ ܘܡܦܠܓܐ ܠܟܠܢܫ ܐܝܟ ܕܗܝ ܨܒܝܐ
klhyn dyn hlyn khd' hy rwkh' ser' wmplg' lklnsh 'yk dhy tsby'
But the one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.

ܐܟܙܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܦܓܪܐ ܚܕ ܗܘ ܘܐܝܬ ܒܗ ܗܕܡܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܗܕܡܐ ܕܦܓܪܐ ܟܕ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܚܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܦܓܪ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܡܫܝܚܐ
'kzn' gyr dpgr' khd hw w'yth bh hdm' sgy'' klhwn dyn hdm' dpgr' kd sgy'' 'ythyhwn khd 'nwn pgr hkn' 'p mshykh'
For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.

ܐܦ ܚܢܢ ܓܝܪ ܟܠܢ ܒܚܕܐ ܪܘܚ ܠܚܕ ܦܓܪ ܥܡܕܢ ܐܢ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܘܐܢ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܘܐܢ ܥܒܕܐ ܘܐܢ ܒܢܝ ܚܐܪܐ ܘܟܠܢ ܚܕܐ ܪܘܚܐ ܐܫܬܝܢ
'p khnn gyr kln bkhd' rwkh lkhd pgr emdn 'n yhwdy' w'n 'rmy' w'n ebd' w'n bny kh'r' wkln khd' rwkh' 'shthyn
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit.

ܐܦ ܦܓܪܐ ܓܝܪ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܚܕ ܗܕܡ ܐܠܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ
'p pgr' gyr l' hw' khd hdm 'l' sgy''
For the body is not one member, but many.

ܐܢ ܬܐܡܪ ܓܝܪ ܪܓܠܐ ܕܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܐܝܕܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܡܢܗ ܡܢ ܦܓܪܐ ܠܘ ܡܛܠ ܗܕܐ ܠܝܬܝܗ ܡܢܗ ܡܢ ܦܓܪܐ

If the foot would say, “Because I’m not the hand, I’m not part of the body,” it is not therefore not part of the body.

ܘܐܢ ܬܐܡܪ ܐܕܢܐ ܥܠ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܥܝܢܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܡܢܗ ܡܢ ܦܓܪܐ ܠܘ ܡܛܠ ܗܕܐ ܠܝܬܝܗ ܡܢܗ ܡܢ ܦܓܪܐ
w'n th'mr 'dn' el dl' hwyth eyn' l' hwyth mnh mn pgr' lw mTl hd' lythyh mnh mn pgr'
If the ear would say, “Because I’m not the eye, I’m not part of the body,” it’s not therefore not part of the body.

ܐܠܘ ܓܝܪ ܟܠܗ ܦܓܪܐ ܥܝܢܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܝܟܐ ܗܘܬ ܡܫܡܥܬܐ ܘܐܠܘ ܟܠܗ ܡܫܡܥܬܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܡܪܝܚ ܗܘܐ
'lw gyr klh pgr' eyn' hw' 'yk' hwth mshmeth' w'lw klh mshmeth' hw' 'ykn' mrykh hw'
If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the smelling be?

ܗܫܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܣܡ ܟܠ ܚܕ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܗܕܡܐ ܒܦܓܪܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܗܘ ܨܒܐ
hsh' dyn 'lh' sm kl khd khd mn hdm' bpgr' 'ykn' dhw tsb'
But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, just as he desired.

ܐܠܘ ܕܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܚܕ ܗܘܘ ܗܕܡܐ ܐܝܟܐ ܗܘܐ ܦܓܪܐ
'lw dyn klhwn khd hww hdm' 'yk' hw' pgr'
If they were all one member, where would the body be?

ܗܫܐ ܕܝܢ ܗܕܡܐ ܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܚܕ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܦܓܪܐ
hsh' dyn hdm' 'ythyhwn sgy'' khd hw dyn pgr'
But now they are many members, but one body.

ܠܐ ܡܫܟܚܐ ܥܝܢܐ ܕܬܐܡܪ ܠܐܝܕܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܬܒܥܝܐ ܐܢܬܝ ܠܝ ܐܦܠܐ ܪܫܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܕܢܐܡܪ ܠܪܓܠܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܬܒܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܝܢ ܠܝ
l' mshkkh' eyn' dth'mr l'yd' dl' mthbey' 'nthy ly 'pl' rsh' mshkkh dn'mr lrgl' dl' mthbeyn 'nthyn ly
The eye can’t tell the hand, “I have no need for you,” or again the head to the feet, “I have no need for you.”

ܐܠܐ ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܗܕܡܐ ܕܡܣܬܒܪܝܢ ܕܡܚܝܠܝܢ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܗܘ ܣܘܢܩܢܐ
'l' ythyr'yth 'ylyn hdm' dmsthbryn dmkhylyn elyhwn hw swnqn'
No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.

ܘܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܣܒܪܝܢܢ ܕܡܨܥܪܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܦܓܪܐ ܠܗܠܝܢ ܐܝܩܪܐ ܝܬܝܪܐ ܡܣܓܝܢܢ ܘܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܕܢܘܟܦܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܣܟܡܐ ܝܬܝܪܐ ܥܒܕܝܢܢ ܠܗܘܢ
w'ylyn dsbrynn dmtseryn 'nwn bpgr' lhlyn 'yqr' ythyr' msgynn w'ylyn ddnwkp' 'nwn 'skm' ythyr' ebdynn lhwn
Those parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, on those we bestow more abundant honor; and our unpresentable parts have more abundant propriety;

ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܝܢ ܗܕܡܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܢ ܕܡܝܩܪܝܢ ܠܐ ܡܬܒܥܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܩܪܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܓܝܪ ܡܙܓܗ ܠܦܓܪܐ ܘܝܗܒ ܐܝܩܪܐ ܝܬܝܪܐ ܠܗܕܡܐ ܐܝܢܐ ܕܙܥܘܪ
'ylyn dyn hdm' d'yth bn dmyqryn l' mthbe' lhwn 'yqr' 'lh' gyr mzgh lpgr' wyhb 'yqr' ythyr' lhdm' 'yn' dzewr
whereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God composed the body together, giving more abundant honor to the inferior part,

ܕܠܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܦܠܓܘܬܐ ܒܦܓܪܐ ܐܠܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܗܕܡܐ ܫܘܝܐܝܬ ܚܕ ܥܠ ܚܕ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܝܨܦܝܢ
dl' thhw' plgwth' bpgr' 'l' klhwn hdm' shwy'yth khd el khd nhwwn ytspyn
that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.

ܕܐܡܬܝ ܕܚܕ ܗܕܡ ܢܗܘܐ ܟܐܒ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܚܫܝܢ ܘܐܢ ܡܫܬܒܚ ܚܕ ܗܕܡ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܗܕܡܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܡܫܬܒܚܝܢ
d'mthy dkhd hdm nhw' k'b klhwn nhwwn khshyn w'n mshthbkh khd hdm klhwn hdm' nhwwn mshthbkhyn
When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. Or when one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܦܓܪܗ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܘܗܕܡܐ ܒܕܘܟܬܟܘܢ
'nthwn dyn pgrh 'nthwn dmshykh' whdm' bdwkthkwn
Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

ܣܡ ܓܝܪ ܐܠܗܐ ܒܥܕܬܗ ܠܘܩܕܡ ܫܠܝܚܐ ܒܬܪܗܘܢ ܢܒܝܐ ܒܬܪܗܘܢ ܡܠܦܢܐ ܒܬܪܗܘܢ ܥܒܕܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܒܬܪܗܘܢ ܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܕܐܣܝܘܬܐ ܘܡܥܕܪܢܐ ܘܡܕܒܪܢܐ ܘܙܢܝܐ ܕܠܫܢܐ
sm gyr 'lh' bedthh lwqdm shlykh' bthrhwn nby' bthrhwn mlpn' bthrhwn ebdy khyl' bthrhwn mwhbth' d'sywth' wmedrn' wmdbrn' wzny' dlshn'
God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages.

ܕܠܡܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܫܠܝܚܐ ܕܠܡܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܢܒܝܐ ܠܡܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܡܠܦܢܐ ܠܡܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܣܥܪܝ ܚܝܠܐ
dlm' klhwn shlykh' dlm' klhwn nby' lm' klhwn mlpn' lm' klhwn sery khyl'
Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers?

ܠܡܐ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܕܐܣܝܘܬܐ ܠܡܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܠܫܢܐ ܡܡܠܠܝܢ ܐܘ ܕܠܡܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܡܦܫܩܝܢ
lm' lklhwn 'yth lhwn mwhbth' d'sywth' lm' klhwn blshn' mmllyn 'w dlm' klhwn mpshqyn
Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with various languages? Do all interpret?

ܐܢ ܕܝܢ ܛܢܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܪܘܪܒܬܐ ܐܢܐ ܬܘܒ ܐܚܘܝܟܘܢ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܡܝܬܪܐ
'n dyn Tnyn 'nthwn bmwhbth' rwrbth' 'n' thwb 'khwykwn 'wrkh' dmythr'
But earnestly desire the best gifts. Moreover, I show a most excellent way to you.
